Who Is Eligible
You are eligible to participate in the pension plan, if you are:

• Employed by a participating employer and you are covered by the collective bargaining agreement between the employers and the union, and you work at least 400 credited hours during a calendar year;
• An elected officer or full-time office employee of any of the local unions of the International Longshoremen’s Association in the Savannah, Georgia district for whom contributions are required and paid by the Local for at least 400 hours during a calendar year;
• An officer of the International Longshoremen’s Association living in the Savannah, Georgia district, and the International makes contributions for at least 400 hours
  for you during a calendar year;
• An employee of the Trust, employed as a full-time salaried employee of the manager’s office or a Container Inspector who works at least 40 hours per week and for whom the Trust makes the required contributions.

When Pension Plan Participation Begins
Participation in the pension plan begins on the date you become eligible. See the pension section for more information on how pension benefits are determined and
when you earn a right to benefits.

When Pension Plan Participation Ends
Generally if you leave employment with a participating employer and are not yet vested, your participation in the pension plan ends. See If You Leave Your Employer But Return
